Scribbled Scribble

The small things in life in a few paragraphs and snapshots

Infantile Fascination

Hello 🙂

How are you all doing? 🙂 I hope all is well in your universe. I skipped a week without a note, because I was away in Matak Island again and the internet connection there was a flashback to the ’90s. So, to be able to send email with the kind of content contained in today’s world is a mission. But, I am okay. My project is wrapping up soon and I will move on to another project in April.

I think I mentioned that I was gonna take pictures of my neighbourhood and share with you. Unfortunately, my procrastinating self was taking over, so I haven’t done it. But, I do have a few other interesting snapshots that I took on my way to Matak Island and back. The thing about flying is most of the time, you get the chance to see some of the better, if not best, view of the planet. Earlier this week on my way to Matak, I got to see the same view of the rice fields I had seen before, but, because it was early in the morning, the sun was shinning on it and so I saw this breathtaking view of its reflection on the watery rice fields. And it moved as the plane moved! So, I was fascinated, pretty much like a child 😀 It may have something to do with my flat plain life these days, that I am easily awed, but it is one of the joys in my life that I get to be fascinated like a little girl again.

Well, to end this note, I am also happy to announce that I managed to read books again. I have completed one titled “Parasit Lajang” (Single Parasite) by Ayu Utami, my favourite Indonesian female writer. I am now reading this teenage book titled “The Fault In Our Stars” by John Green, which is actually not so teenage in some ways, it’s kinda deep. I thought I need to read some light stuffs these days so as to not to intensify my tendency to be stressed.

So, you have a fabulous week ahead. Try to find something that can fascinate you like a child again. I promise you, it is a great feeling.

#1: My flight got delayed, so while waiting, I took snapshots of the planes taking off like this one.

#2: The moving golden sun reflection that fascinated me like a little child…

#3: We had to stop for fuel at Pangkalpinang, that is in Bangka Island.

#4: And then back again at the airport at sunset a week later…amazing colours, aren’t they?

Batam Island

Hello 🙂

How have you been? I hope that you are enjoying your weekend and have some quality time for yourself and your loved ones. My week has been okay. The weekend has been okay too. I have to prepare for another sea trip on Monday. I can’t say that I look forward to it, but we don’t always get to do glorious exciting stuffs. Sometimes we have to cope with less fun things. I suppose, it helps us appreciate the little fun activities that we get to do but we take for granted, like having coffee at our favourite coffee shops or read books at a park. Or shopping, if you’re a shopaholic. I have my moments when shopping is a lot of fun, but I am not a devout shopper 🙂

Early this morning, I actually got a phoneography challenge from WordPress to go out and take snapshots of the neighbourhood using my phone. But, I just got lazy and return back to sleep for a few more hours. Maybe I will do it tomorrow and share the snapshots with you for the time when I am back from my sea and island trips. Maybe I will show you my favourite coffee shop and the small park near my home and the hectic traffic 🙂 But for this week, I have one snapshot from my flight to Batam island a few days ago. It is a small island east of Sumatra, the main island of western Indonesia beside Java. I think one of the few things that make traveling for work bearable is the scenery, especially when the sky is clear. It is just stunning.

So here it is, Batam’s sky, sea and islands. Have a wonderful week ahead!

Little Random Things

Hello 🙂

How are you all doing? 🙂 How is this weekend going so far? I hope it has gone fantastically well and you’ve enjoyed it. I had to give training yesterday, so I did not have a full weekend. And at the end of yesterday, I felt very tired and just went home and rest. I had not been fit for the past week and for several nights I had trouble breathing. But, I slept well last night. So, I’m fine now.
It’s going to be a short note as I did not really have much to tell (maybe it is your turn to send me yours :D). I did have a few snapshots taken about random things while going for lunch yesterday. It is fun to take pictures of random stuffs you see as you pass by some place. I am inspired by one of you actually, who have this interesting Facebook album about random daily things. You know who you are 😉 I am sharing the snapshots with you now.
Have a fabulous week ahead. Try to find and enjoy small random things in life!
#1: Peaceful solitude. The old man and his iPad.

#2: Cute snacks at a grocery store. I can’t imagine eating them. They’re too cute to be eaten!
#3: A few words from the wise. Some of you must know where I took this shot 🙂
