Scribbled Scribble

The small things in life in a few paragraphs and snapshots

Season Greetings

Dear friends,

I haven’t been writing to you for a long time now. And it is not because I have forgotten about you all. A lot has been happening at work and I have to admit that I just did not make time to keep in touch. But, this Christmas, I made sure that I spent time with my best friends. It has been a great Christmas time, one to remember for years to come. We decided to visit an orphanage for children aged 0-6 years old and shared Christmas cookies with them. We also dropped of some daily baby stuffs like diapers and milk. It is a nice feeling to be able to share with these children. I am thinking of doing this on a more regular basis and then add more activities like story telling, book reading and more engagement activities.

I am sharing with you some photos from my Christmas with my friends and family. Christmas eve is also my birthday. And I am truly blessed this year to have been able to share it with these people. I hope you have the same joy that I experienced this Christmas.

From us, my cat Sandy included, to you and your family: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you who celebrate, and happy holidays to all.

Long Time No Write

Hello, hello! 😀

Yes, I have been in hiatus for a while now. I miss you guys! 😀 What’s happening in your part of the world? I hope all is well with you.

As for me, I am well. Life is normal, you know, sometimes it’s up, other times it’s down. There are times when it’s flat too. So, all normal, you’d expect that from life. My long term renovation project is still on-going. I have a backyard now! 😀 The grass is not yet fully grown, but it should be in a month’s time. My cat Sandy is fat but healthy. He’s just been vaccinated last Saturday. I am planning to bring him to my Bogor home on weekends later.

What I need to make up for is reading and traveling. I have read 3 books this year, so to stay consistent with my new year’s resolution, I am starting another book this weekend: Long Walk To Freedom by Nelson Mandela. It is so captivating, I think I’m gonna finish in 2 weeks time max. As for traveling, I am thinking about going to Flores Island and Komodo Island. They are on the south-eastern part of Indonesia and have beautiful beaches and sea. Flores also has Mount Kelimutu, whose crater is a 3-color lake. Meanwhile, Komodo Island hosts the largest lizard in the world, the komodo dragons. So, I am keen to go. Just not sure when yet, perhaps sometime in August.

So, here’s a snapshot of my backyard 🙂 Walls need painting, I know, and I will white-wash them. I am now working on the study. I’ll send the snapshot when it’s done.

From The Archive

Hello, hello! 😀

I hope everyone has had a great weekend. If weather’s not been friendly on your part of the world, well, not where I live either. It’s been cloudy and rainy for the most part this weekend. I ended up spending most of Saturday…sleeping. My cat Sandy has been pretty lazy too. The only time he gets excited is feeding time. Other than that, I would find him curled somewhere under the furniture if not on it.

Last week, I told you that I was going to try to make Tom Yum soup. Well, it didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to. The smell and look were right, but the taste was somewhat plain. I followed the recipe, but a friend of mine told me that cooking is intuitive. Sounds exactly like my mom. Anyways, I’m just going to stick with the easy ones for this week: lemon chicken, honey mustard chicken and steamed veggies.

I just looked in my photo archives and found a few photos from my trip to Singapore last year. I visited a couple of friends in August 2013. On the first night, I went for dinner with one of the two and we had a nice Moroccan dinner at the Deli Moroccan. It is located at Bugis area, somewhere near Arab Street. I can’t recall the exact street name though. I really enjoyed the food and I loved the tea! I don’t know how they made it, but it tasted different from any tea I had ever had. If you are adventurous with food, you should try it. Here are the snapshots and have a great week ahead!

I had lamb, my friend had beef. The meat was tender and very delicious!

The Moroccan tea. The pot makes me think of Aladin and the genie!
